BCTC's Community Investment program is a reflection of our commitment to support the people and organizations that make BC a great place to live. We strive to be a good corporate citizen and seek to support innovative and high quality programs that enhance the lives of British Columbians.
Our program focuses its support in the following areas:
- Environment
- Education
- Safety
- Community Development
Criteria
To be considered for support, we give considerations to organizations that do the following:
- Make significant contributions in BC communities served by BCTC
- Demonstrate and report on measurable impacts and achievements
- Show compatibility with our corporate objectives and business values
- Operate as registered charitable or non-profit organizations
The following are not eligible for support:
- Organizations funded by United Way (BCTC and its employees participate in an annual United Way campaign)
- Individual applicants
- For profit organizations
- Political or partisan organizations
- Talent and beauty contests
- Fraternal organizations, commercial solicitors, professional fundraisers or parties raising funds for a charity (as opposed to co-funders)
- Religious groups or denominational organizations
- Named academic chairships or fellowships
- Organizations, projects and activities outside of British Columbia
- The reduction or donation of the cost of electricity transmission (this is prohibited by the British Columbia Utilities Commission)
- Tickets for contests, raffles or other fundraising activities with prizes
- The reduction of debts or past operating ventures
- Endowment funds
- Underwriting for films, television or video productions
- Travel costs
Interested in applying for funding?
There are three steps:
- Ensure that your project or initiative is eligible for funding by reviewing the criteria and exclusions listed above.
- Complete an application form (DOC, 200KB).
- Email the form and any attachments to BCTC Community Relations.
- We review our applications quarterly and we encourage you to submit your application at least four months prior to the time your project begins. We regret that due to the volume of requests we receive, we are unable to support all funding requests.
