On February 6, 2008, BC Hydro issued its Bioenergy Call. Detailed proponent requirements are found on BC Hydro's Bioenergy Call for Power website. BCTC facilitates BC Hydro's Competitive Electricity Acquisition Process by providing interconnection studies. The information from these studies will be used by BC Hydro to evaluate and select successful bidders.
What does an IPP need to do?
Under Phase I of this call, IPPs with transmission system connected projects must submit their application to BCTC.
The application is comprised of:
- Submitting an Interconnection Request form (XLS, 602KB) by March 7, 2008
- Signing a Feasibility Study Agreement by 4:00 pm PPT on April 7, 2008
- Submitting a $30,000 deposit by 4:00 pm PPT on April 7, 2008
IPPs must resolve application deficiencies by April 7, 2008.
To proceed through the study process, IPPs will be required to meet technical requirements and provide data to BCTC in a timely manner. More details will be communicated to IPPs through workshops.
