BCTC's Standard Generator Interconnection Procedures (SGIP) governs the procedures for interconnection to the BC transmission system. The SGIP is a structured procedure with defined "steps" and requirements in each step. IPPs must meet all the requirements in each step before proceeding to the next step.
The SGIP is for an interconnection customer who wishes to:
- Connect to the transmission system outside a BC Hydro Call for Power (e.g. for the purpose of self supplying)
- Conduct studies in preparation for participation in BC Hydro's Calls for Power
- Wants to modify generation and associated interconnection facilities
- Participate in BC Hydro's Standing Offer Program
