Interior B.C.
The Interior of British Columbia powers B.C.’s electricity system. Large dams provide vast amounts of electricity for B.C. Today, greater capacity is under development in this region. The transmission circuits that bring power from the B.C. Interior to the Lower Mainland are some of the most critical paths on the transmission grid. It’s time to upgrade this part of the grid to help support economic development throughout the province. To ensure that we can continue to meet the electricity needs of growing communities in B.C., we are studying alternatives to reinforce the transmission system between the B.C. Interior and the Lower Mainland by 2014.
