To increase the reliability of existing electrical infrastructure and address growing demand for electricity in the downtown core, BC Transmission Corporation has now installed a third transformer at Cathedral Square Substation in Vancouver. The new transformer is scheduled to be in-service in September/October 2009.
BCTC continues to work closely with BC Hydro on this project.
