In the 2007 Energy Plan, the BC Government committed to ensuring the province remains consistent with North American Reliability standards and follow the industry practice of making these standards mandatory for users, owners and operators of the bulk transmission system in British Columbia. Over the last few months, BCTC has been leading discussions with industry participants about implementing Mandatory Reliability Standards in BC.
As part of these discussions, BCTC hosted a public information session on November 7th, set up industry working groups to review proposed standards and met with a number of customers. On January 16th 2008, BCTC will host a second information session/workshop to further discussion of the standards and their application in BC.
