A Clean Energy Vision for the Province
With some of BC’s best minds on board, we’re recognized around the world for our technological innovation and creative solutions to energy management. The province’s Energy Plan supports our continued efforts to remain at the forefront in the electricity sector.
In February 2007, the BC Government released a new, ambitious Energy Plan for the Province of British Columbia. This plan, A Vision for Clean Energy Leadership describes a made-in-BC solution to the global challenge of ensuring a secure, reliable supply of clean energy in an environmentally responsible way while continuing to create prosperity and opportunities for British Columbia.
BCTC's implementation of the Energy Plan is focused in four areas:
- Ensuring adequate transmission is in place to enable clean and renewable energy
- Conservation with a focus on reducing energy losses
- Innovation to ensure BC’s transmission technology and infrastructure remain leading edge
- Enhanced reliability by adopting industry developed standards as mandatory
We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to improve our electrical system. Our experts are developing new techniques, improving our equipment, and improving our methods, building on BC’s rich heritage of electricity leadership.
